Why winter is the best time to renovate your Regina home
Interior renovations do not care about minus thirty. Here is why our winter clients get faster schedules, better trade availability and sometimes better pricing.
Most people think of renovations as a summer thing. Our schedule board tells a different story: some of the smoothest projects we run are basements and kitchens in January.
Trades are available
From April to October every electrician, plumber and drywaller in Regina is juggling new builds and exterior work. In winter they can be on your job the day we call. That shortens a kitchen from five weeks to three.
Dry air is good for finishing
Drywall mud, paint and hardwood all behave better in the low humidity of a heated Regina house in winter. Floors acclimate faster and paint cures cleaner.
Your yard survives
Material goes in over frozen ground, not soft sod. No ruts, no dead grass, and nobody is tracking mud through your entry.
What we still avoid
- Concrete pours and foundations wait for the ground to thaw unless the project justifies hoarding and heat.
- Roofing and siding are risky below minus fifteen and stop when the shingles will not seal.
- Exterior painting and staining wait for spring.
